This Think Spring Cocktail is a low-key tribute to perfumery. Believe it or not, beneath that Cro-Magnon Man brow, Zach is quite the fragrance fanatic. There he sits at his work-from-home desk, shirtless and unshowered for days, spritzing himself every hour on the hour with a cologne that’s perfectly dialed into the ambient temperature and humidity of the day. OK maybe it’s not THAT bad. But he really did build this drink with iris as its heart note, surrounded by all the scents that iris is typically paired with. Don’t tell him we told you. Freakin NERD.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 3/4 oz Elixir Craft Spirits Iris liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Italicus Bergamot liqueur
  • 1/8 oz absinthe
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 orange, juiced
  • 4 dashes grapefruit bitters
  • 4 dashes cardamom bitters

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until well-chilled. Pour into small rocks glass without ice and garnish with chive blossoms.
