Air Fryer Pigs in a Blanket
- Roll out dough and season with garlic powder. Divide into 17-18 strips (depending on how many Smokies are in pack). Then cut dough length-wise. This will give you 34 or 36 individual dough strips.
- Working one at a time, wrap each dog in a single dough strip, wrapping in a corkscrew-like fashion so that all of sausage is covered except for the very ends. Make sure dough is pressed together so that there aren’t any distinct seams left.
- Add water and baking soda to small pot and bring to boil. Working in batches, boil for 20-30 seconds. Remove from water with slotted spoon and set aside on baking sheet.
- Preheat air fryer to 380º.
- Baste each sausage with egg. Lightly salt with coarse salt.
- Place sausages in air fryer tray with a little space in between each. Cook for 6-8 minutes (or until golden brown on both sides), flipping halfway through.
- Remove from fryer and serve immediately with pub-style beer cheese.
Pub-Style Beer Cheese
- In a saucepan, whisk together heavy cream, egg yolk and seasonings over medium heat until just simmering. Add the beer and shredded cheese.
- Stir for one minute, remove from heat and continue to stir until the cheese has melted completely. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
