This Apple Bourbon Stuffed French Toast recipe will kick off any Sunday morning with a POW. The bourbon apple pecan filling, the spiced cream cheese spread, all on King’s Hawaiian sliced bread. SO good!

Ingredients
Apple Filling
- 4 apples, peeled and cubed
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Lemon juice for apples
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp water
- 2 oz bourbon
- 1 cup pecans
Cream Cheese Spread
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
French Toast Batter
- Kings Hawaiian Sliced Bread
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Apple Bourbon Stuffed French Toast
Apple Filling
- Combine apples, sugar, spices, and vanilla in bowl. Toss.
- Combine water, butter, and bourbon in pan over medium heat. Stir until butter is melted.
- Add apples and pecans. Cook 7-10 minutes with lid on, remove lid and continue cooking until apples are softened and liquid is syrup.
Cream Cheese Spread
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cinnamon, and powdered sugar. Mix until well-combined.
French Toast Batter
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla until well-combined.
- In a separate bowl, stir together flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon until well-combined.
- Slowly whisk dry ingredients into wet ingredients until batter is smooth.
Apple Bourbon Stuffed French Toast Build
- Spread cream cheese mixture on one side of a piece of bread. Lay bread with cream cheese side up. Top with apple filling. Spread cream cheese mixture on one side of another piece of bread. Sandwich that piece on top of apple filling with cream cheese side down.
- Keeping sandwich pressed together, dip it completely in French toast batter and brown in butter-greased pan until golden brown on both sides.
- Plate French toast and top with more apple filling. Enjoy.
