Chai Cookies Recipe

These Chai Cookies take on the whole baking spice rack in the most delicious way. Six spices along with vanilla and a deep molasses note bring everything together so that one flavor isn’t too strong, all of it lingering on your tastebuds just like a sip of chai spiced tea.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- Powdered sugar for rolling
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Chai Cookies
- Using a hand mixer combine butter and sugar until smooth. Add egg & molasses. Mix together until well-combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour and baking spices until combined.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Mix until well-combined.
- Cover dough with plastic wrap and chill in fridge for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 375º.
- Remove dough from fridge and form into 1″ balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated. Place balls on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 375° for 10 minutes or until cookies have cracked but still look slightly under-baked.
- Remove from oven and let cookies cool for at least 10 minutes. Enjoy.
