Ingredients
Chocolate Dipped Oranges
- 1 bar baker’s semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 orange, divided into segments
Orange Whipped Cream
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp vanilla
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 1 tsp orange zest
- Juice from one Mandarin orange
Chocolate Waffle Batter
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup canola or peanut oil
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 egg whites
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

Chocolate Dipped Oranges
- In a bowl, microwave chocolate according to package directions until melted.
- Dip oranges immediately. Set on wax paper. Chill in refrigerator until serving.
Orange Whipped Cream
- Add all ingredients to a stand mixer and whip with whisk attachment at high speed until mixture thickens to whipped cream consistency. Serve immediately or store for up to 1 day.
Chocolate Waffle Batter
- Preheat your waffle maker.
- Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, salt in a large mixing bowl.
- In a small bowl and using a hand mixer, whip together egg yolks, milk, oil, and vanilla. Pour egg mixture into dry ingredients and using a whisk mix until well-combined.
- Using a hand mixer, whip egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold egg whites into waffle batter.
- Cook waffles according to your waffle maker instructions. Serve immediately topped with orange whipped cream and maple syrup and garnished with chocolate dipped oranges.
