Homemade Naan Recipe
This Homemade Naan recipe is super easy to make, and it’s the perfect accompaniment for hummus, tabouleh, and baba ganoush, or as the shell for your favorite wrap!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp granulated white sugar
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup warm whole milk
- 1/2 cup plain whole milk yogurt
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- Grapeseed oil
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Homemade Naan
- In a large bowl, lightly whisk together yeast, sugar, water, and milk. Let sit for at least 5 minutes or until yeast starts to foam and is fragrant.
- Stir in yogurt until well-combined. Mix in flour and salt. Knead dough until smooth (about 3 minutes). Transfer dough to greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let dough rest for at least an hour at room temperature.
- Heat 2 Tbsp oil cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll each piece to about 1/4” thickness. Brush top of dough with oil, then place oil side-down in skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes or until dough puffs up. Brush top of dough with more oil. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes or so. Remove from heat. Repeat until dough is gone. Serve immediately with an optional topping of cracked sea salt.
