Muffuletta with Giardiniera Sauce Recipe

This Muffuletta with Giardiniera Sauce recipe takes the New Orleans classic sandwich and swaps out the olive tapenade for a giardiniera sauce made of chopped giardiniera, mayonnaise, Dijon, garlic and Italian herbs.

Ingredients
Giardiniera Sauce
- 1 cup mayo
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 3 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp oregano, dried
- 1 Tbsp basil, dried
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 16 oz jar of giardiniera, roughly diced

- 1 boule loaf, halved height-wise
- Giardiniera sauce
- Pepperoni, sliced
- Genoa salami, sliced
- Black Forest Ham, sliced
- Provolone cheese, sliced
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

Giardiniera Sauce
- Combine all ingredients except giardiniera. Whisk until smooth. Mix in giardiniera. Serve.
Muffuletta Build
- Taking the top half of the boule, pick out some of the bread so that the inside starts to take on a concave shape.
- Slather both halves of the bread with giardiniera.
- Lay the salami slices in circular, overlapping fashion around the bottom half of the bread. Repeat with pepperoni, ham, then cheese. Then repeat with all four once again.
- Top with other half of bread. Cut into quarters. Enjoy!
