Pittsburgh Salad Spring Rolls Recipe
Food Recipes | Appetizers | Asian | Fusion | Gameday | Super Bowl | Vietnamese | Wraps
These Pittsburgh Salad Spring Rolls forsake the freshness and beauty of traditional Vietnamese Spring Rolls and stuff all that rice paper with Steel Town bar food. It’s an ode to that feeling of growing up in small-town Pennsylvania without much to look forward to except football season. Every situation can be turned into a convo about the Steelers. Just had a baby? Name it Terry Bradshaw. Just got a raise? Buy a black and yellow pickup truck. At a funeral? Throw a Terrible Towel in Grandpa’s coffin. Nothing, not even a spring roll, is safe.

- Fill a wide shallow bowl with water. Soften the rice paper wrapper by dipping it completely into the water for ~3 seconds. If the wrapper tears, you’ve overhydrated it.
- Lay softened wrapper flat. Add lettuce, coleslaw, 2-3 french fries, 1-2 steak slices. Roll wrapper halfway up, then top with two egg slices. Fold in sides of wrapper, then finish rolling wrapper.
- Repeat Steps 2 & 3 until you’ve used all your toppings. Garnish with chives and serve with Montreal Steak Ranch for dipping.
