Poblano Popper Burger Recipe

This football season, our Poblano Popper Burger wants to keep the men in your life from harming your living room television. And if you yourself are a man, do you solemnly swear to keep your hands off your living room television? No matter how mad you get that another grown man making literally 500x your salary failed to give you a reason to make the other men in your life feel bad about the grown men they like instead of your favorite grown men—you’re not allowed to put your grubby fingies on the TV. Instead, why don’t you McNabb yourself a Poblano Popper Burger and chill the eff out, bro. And drink some water.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Set oven to broil on high. Place poblanos on a foil-lined baking sheet and broil until skins are mostly black on all sides (rotating every 4-5 minutes). Place peppers in a covered bowl and allow to steam for 30 minutes. Remove skins and seeds from peppers, then cut 3 of the 4 poblanos in half lengthwise. Dice the other poblano. Set aside.
  2. Preheat grill to 500-550°F.
  3. In a large bowl add cream cheese, cheddar, garlic powder, salt, pepper and chives. Using a hand mixer, blend together until smooth.
  4. Season burgers then grill for about 90 seconds on one side. Flip then top with a generous portion for the cream cheese mixture. Cook for another 2 minutes or so. Remove from heat.
  5. Using same grill temp, toast buns. Remove from heat.
  6. To build a Poblano Popper Burger, lay heel of bun down. Top with burger, then 1/2 half of a roasted poblano, then the crown of bun. Repeat with remaining burgers. Enjoy!
