Air Fryer Pigs in a Blanket

  1. Roll out dough and season with garlic powder. Divide into 17-18 strips (depending on how many Smokies are in pack). Then cut dough length-wise. This will give you 34 or 36 individual dough strips.
  2. Working one at a time, wrap each dog in a single dough strip, wrapping in a corkscrew-like fashion so that all of sausage is covered except for the very ends. Make sure dough is pressed together so that there aren’t any distinct seams left.
  3. Add water and baking soda to small pot and bring to boil. Working in batches, boil for 20-30 seconds. Remove from water with slotted spoon and set aside on baking sheet.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 380º.
  5. Baste each sausage with egg. Lightly salt with coarse salt.
  6. Place sausages in air fryer tray with a little space in between each. Cook for 6-8 minutes (or until golden brown on both sides), flipping halfway through.
  7. Remove from fryer and serve immediately with pub-style beer cheese.

Pub-Style Beer Cheese

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together heavy cream, egg yolk and seasonings over medium heat until just simmering. Add the beer and shredded cheese.
  2. Stir for one minute, remove from heat and continue to stir until the cheese has melted completely. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
