This General Tso’s Chicken Sandwich is like Chinese takeout, a Banh Mi, and your perpetual-bachelor uncle decided to get fancy on gameday.

Ingredients
Pickled Veggies
- 1 medium carrot
- 1 medium cucumber
- 6 large radishes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup rice vinegar
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 1 cup water
General Tso’s Sauce
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 tsp orange zest
- 2 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp canola oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 Tbsp freshly minced ginger

- WF Spicy Chicken Breast
- General Tso’s Sauce
- Sesame seed buns
- White sesame seeds
- Scallions
- Pickled Veggies
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
General Tso’s Chicken Sandwich
Pickled Veggies
- Slice carrot, cucumber, and radishes into thin discs.
- Combine veggies with salt, vinegar, sugar, and water in a storable container. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (half a day is best).
General Tso’s Sauce
- In a small bowl, combine all ingredients except oil, garlic, and ginger. Whisk together until well-combined.
- In small scalepan over medium-high heat, add oil, garlic, and ginger. Cook until fragrant. Pour in liquid mixture and bring to simmer. Continue simmering to thicken sauce, whisking frequently. Remove from heat and transfer back to small bowl. Set aside.
General Tso’s Chicken Sandwich
- Air fry Spicy Chicken Breast according to package instructions. Set aside.
- Place bun heel on cutting board. Toss Spicy Chicken Breast in General Tso’s Sauce until well-coated. Lay chicken on heel. Top with sesame seeds, then scallions, Pickled Veggies, then bun crown. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Enjoy!
